Our desktop computer is not having these problems so I don't believe it is Comcast. What happens is I go to type out an e-mail in AOL or I'll go into TOTV and try to click new posts and it just sits there. On AOL it will type a couple of letters and then stop. On TOTV I'll use the scroll bar and it will jerk and move very slowly.
I have tried a new wireless mouse and it didn't act any differently. I have checked for processes running and have disabled all that happen during the day so I don't believe any updates are running, but that could be an option. There just aren't any showing up in the tray. I tried alt, control, delete and looked at the task manager and nothing will be there except AOL. I am running AOl from the AOL website and it works fine on our desktop at the same time. Any ideas?

This happened to me and it was the windows indexing service. It's supposed to run during idle time. But then what happened, I'd be idle, the thing would start running and it would take up 100% cpu. When it happens go to the Task manager and click on the Processes tab. Then sort by CPU and you can see what process is using up all your CPU. You can see what file is taking up all your CPU. I think the index service was cisvc.exe. If you see this file in the process, you can stop it.
