I am in agreement with those who caution renters and cart owners to be very careful on this matter. Regardless of what the agent or broker says, the terms of the policy will prevail.
You will probably find a section of your policy dedicated to misrepresentation and fraud. Read it carefully. If you do not understand it, seek legal advice. I mean an attorney not an agent or broker.
One may be very sure they are on safe ground but when there is an accident and the insurance company examines the facts, and they will, one may find themselves in big trouble.
Loaning a cart to a renter is not the same as loaning it to your neighbor while his in the shop or to a visitor who is your guest for a few days.
A cart accident can result in big bucks in damages. Insurance companies do not arbitrarily pay out big bucks without a thorough examination of the facts.
