I'm Beth and my husband, Dane, and I are closing on a pre-owned CYV - scheduled to close on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. If everything comes off as planned and scheduled it will truly be a day to be giving lots of thanks....LOL.

We live in Perrysburg, Ohio, a suburb of Toledo. I guess I don't have to give any more explaination about why we are choosing to move to The Villages. I'm not sure, but I've heard....and please correct me if I'm wrong - someone told us you don't have to shovel sunshine like we do the snow in Ohio. Boy, that sounds like a dream for sure!

We'll be in and out for a couple years. I'm retired (aka: lost my job and couldn't get anything else at my age) but Dane has a couple more years to work before we can be down full time. I was a bookkeeper at a non-profit organization and Dane is the fleet manager for an electrical contractor.

We have dear friends who have a lovely home in Buttonwood and they really gave us the opportunity to get to know the community and decide we wanted to join in the lifestyle. Many, MANY years ago we lived in Palatka, FL (northeast of The Villages) and Dane has two brothers and two sisters living there so it will be nice to be close to family as well as new friends.

I've been lurking around this forum for a few weeks and I can see what a wealth of information it's gonna be as questions come up. I look forward to getting to know many of you!
WELCOME to you both from another Buckeye. Lots of them on this forum.
I will always love Ohio, home to gentle people and the worlds BEST tomatoes and corn...and the sweetest grandchildren.
