There's a figure in the current Villages Voice (delivered with today's Daily Sun of 54,000 golf carts. I've heard at least 51,00 recently, but I'm not sure anyone has a real count, since they're not registered in any way.

I have also heard that the average Villages home has 1.2 golf carts!
