When you click the Download link, it'll take you off to a Cnet web site. Not to worry - that's how a lot of companies handle their downloads.
I dumped AVG a while back and started using both Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials (as has been suggested by a number of people). Performance of my machine has improved dramatically (lots of overhead with AVG, it seems) and I've had no issues.
