Hi, Veronica. Tell you what: Where you live now, alone, you have probably explored/exhausted most of the possibilities for recreation and socializing. You probably don't see some of your old friends because you don't want to be a "fifth wheel.' Well, guess what - if you move to The Villages those problems will disappear. There are hundreds (possibly thousands)of clubs and groups doing everything imaginable, from sewing, painting, playing card games to eating out and exercising. And they don't care if you're married or single, no one notices. You will make friends, everyone is helpful and friendly (except a few old grouches, but they're everywhere, aren't they?) You are a bit younger than the average but that doesn't matter either.
