Default Thinking you are a new build ...

I think there maybe some confusion. I just heard that the new homes being built do NOT have an outlet in the living room floor as in the past, some of the homes that used be standard.
If you are building now, you would simply need to figure out where your furnishings will be placed and see if you need one.
We have one under our sofa and it is great for lamps on either side however, I have seen homes where the sofa is placed on the long wall that most place their TVs on and the plug sticks out like a sore thumb on the floor.
It is good idea to have extra outlets placed on the outside of the home and it relatively inexpensive if you are a new build.
