I would tend to think that women learn to dance at an early age as they want to be more socially acceptable. Boys tend to be into doing sports.

Most guys learn to dance when they get interested in girls. Some are not good at it and find it difficult to navigate. They don't tend to think like it's exercise as opposed to the traditional exercises.

Since women have started much earlier than men and, they are much better dancers. They are men who are the exception to the rule but certainly are no Fred Astaire's. Unfrotunately, That's why women are always looking for someone to dance with, (good dancing men are in short supply).
