Each night Max would sleep on the floor on my side of the bed and each morning he would wake us as he scratched at his neck....it was a morning thing he did each day. As he scratched, the tags on his collar would go clink, clink, clink and the handles on my dresser drawer would also start banging against the drawer front. Well, that morning we laid there and suddenly, there was that familiar clink, clink, clink and the bang, bang, bang. Both of us sat bolt upright in bed then looked over the side to see if Max was there! It was quiet, no wind, no earthquake, no sonic boom....just that clink, clink, clink, bang, bang, bang. We both looked at each other, laughed and it was the very last time we cried for our sweet pooch. He was still with us and let us know....

I also had a beloved dog named Max. In my case Max was a 200+ pound Mastiff, sweetest dog I have ever had. He would jump in our bed and stake his claim between us and there was no moving that big guy if he didn't want moved. I still think about him almost every day and it's been 8 years since he passed
