Default Providing negative Comments on line --- Call a lawyer

Not so long ago there was an extremely negative post here on TOTV about a medical professional and the OP was cautioned about providing such a post for he/she may be subjecting him/herself to legal recourse from the effected party. The Moderator in fact closed down the thread.

See the recent issue of SMART MONEY that shows how professonals are suing posters of on-line comments on Angies List and other BBs.

I think we need to be very careful in what we write or say. Its one thing to recommend or not recommend a business or professional, but TOTV or any other public bulletin Board is not the place to carry out what could be construed as a vindictive attack against the business. There are other means available to the offended party. The article goes on to say that people who make comments on public bulletin boards may want to consider taking out a personal injury rider ( I assume this would cover liable/slander) on their homeowners insurance policy.
