It is rather simple..The Constitution allows for citizens to own guns/firearms. Does anyone in this world really believe that taking guns from normal citizens will decrease crime. As the kid said in Home Alone "I don't think so". Does anyone believe that if a criminal or for that fact a "nut" would not be able to get a gun if they wanted one. I don't think so..I do not own a gun or as as one writer said, I am not a member of the NRA but I do believe in the Constitution. I also believe that if a criminal wanted a gun he/she would get one and the victim is at their mercy. The ex Gov. of Minnesota had a sign over the entrance to his ranch the said, '"We don't call 911". Pretty clear no one wanted to mess with that ranch. Why did our founders put that in the Constitution? Why not concentrate on that? Mayb the answer is to really be hard on those that use a gun in the execution of a crime. Make it mandatory for Judges to hand out tough sentences. Make the consequences for using a gun so harsh that ones that do will not be back in society for a very long time and then with tight restrictions. No exceptions!! Why should the "good guy" be punished because of the "bad guy" Why should the "good guy be exposed to the "bad guy" and not have protections? I totally argee with the NRA even though I don't belong.
