Yes, it requires very little maintenance. But when you do clean it, you power wash it or use a stiff broom and a hose. Sweeping up is easy. The big thing I like about the river rock is the fact that it minimizes pooling of water. Even after a big rain storm, you can walk out there without puddles. The stone is semi porous and any water, to a point, drains down to the base level, like a hard sponge. Plus, it doesn't show the dirt like tile or pavers or painted floors.
