Actually, I'm not allergic to gluten. I read the book "Wheat Belly", and then went online to search for lists of gluten-free foods. There is a web site
Food facts, nutritional information, nutrition, healthy eating, diet, food allergies, ingredients - Home where you can search for any type of food or brand of food, and they have ratings that tell you the "bad" things that are in them. It is a little too critical, but a good overall guide.
My goal was to avoid products made from wheat and refined white flour, and reduce sugar intake. That eliminated many of the fattening foods for me.
As an added benefit, I don't get acid indigestion any more. Stores like Publix carry some gluten-free foods. I do eat popcorn without additives, gluten-free pasta in small quantities with pesto and parmesan cheese. Salmon with dijon mustard, rotisserie chicken. As a treat, I eat things like home-made rice pudding.
Some restaurants label things as "gluten free" but as long as it is made from protein, veggies, rice, etc. it is a pretty safe bet.
p.s. No "before" picture. Most guys know better than to ask!
