Default Adobe Flash Player

When using Internet Explorer, I keep getting messages like "need to install Adobe Flash Player" or on TV at bottom of page "This website wants to install Adobe Flash Player". When I follow the link to insall, I get messages like:
1. User does not have sufficient privilege to install Adobe Flash Player
2. A required file (c://windows/sysWOW64 (Macromed/Flash/Activex.vch:5) could not be written due to insufficient permission.
3. Adobe Flash Player did not sufficiently install.
I checked my Control Panel and it shows the following installed programs:
Adobe Air
Adobe Flash Player II Active X
Adobe Flash Player II Plug Ins
I do not seem to have this problem when using Firefox; I am able to view videos. But for some reason I prefer to use Internet Explorer and therefore, keep encountering this problem. I then have to switch to Firefox to view the video.
Any simple solutions? I am completely computer illiterate. Thank you.
After posting my original question, Using IE, just clicked a video attachment to an email. The video DID open and played with "big time skipping". However, I still get message at bottom of TV site saying" This website wants to install Adobe Flash Player". So problem must still exist. HELP !!
