GM had the unveil streamed live last evening - Sandy and I watched it here at the house. Pretty cool!
I had the same initial thought about the no-more-round-taillights as well. But given the body lines, etc., I think what they did with the rear end treatment works well.
One of the speakers involved in the unveil (can't remember which one) said (paraphrasing here) that they wanted the car to have more of a European flavor to it. I think they achieve that! And it looks like, at least from the description, video, and all the pics now up on the web, they've done a complete re-do on the interior. That's been a sore spot of sorts with a lot of people since the C5 came out in 1997.....and nothing much was done differently in the C6.
Between the C5 and the C6, which were in essence much the same in many respects, I think it was high-time for GM to make such a change for the C7. It's not a highly revolutionary redesign but more of an appropriate evolution of the car. We'll see how much the buying public likes it!!!
It'll be very interesting to see the car in person - be able to get sit in it, pop the hood, etc. But that won't be til this fall when they hit the dealerships.
