Never think your thoughts go unnoticed
We all have those times when we hear of somebody we know who has lost a loved one, or is otherwise in times of trouble. We sometimes reach out but sometimes wonder if we have the right words, or worry that we are intuding on their privacy. I know I have often held back, feeling that I had nothing to add to the situation, or nothing to offer to help them heal. Having recently gone through the devastating loss of our grandson, I can tell you with certainty just how important the concerns, thoughts, expressions of love, and prayers of others truly are felt. I have previously thanked everyone on this board who reached out in various ways to help us in our time of need, but wanted to emphasize how deeply those various expressions of your caring helped us through the struggle to maintain hope in a miracle, and the eventual reality that a miracle would not happen in this case. Through all of this we realize that the true miracle is the love and caring in this world and beyond. We will all ultimately face the fate that Quentin experienced, much to early, so it is not a question of if, but of when. The real meaning of life is the shared experiences, and the love and caring of the people we are fortunate enough to come into contact with while we are here, no matter how long that may be. We had friends reach out in ways that I could never have imagined, and to whom I will forever be grateful. I will try to never again miss an opportunity to share by sympathy, my prayers, my hope, my faith, and my love for those who I find in need, because I now know just how strong and how meaningful that expession can be. Thank you.
