Our original fan died, we went to Lowes, got instructions from the guy who sold us the fan - "any idiot can do this", so being any idiot the other half decided to do it. Biggest problem was getting the old one out and holding your arms above your head for so long while you complete the job. It really is quite simple, and you can get step by step instructions off the internet for almost any DIY project now. Go for it, if it doesn't work out you can always call the handyman who is highly recommended on TOTV, and right now I cannot remember his name!
