I would check into such things way ahead of time with the review board. Each village has restrictions and the newer the village the more restrictions are in place. I'm not really sure if a lot of these lots allow space to drive a cart from the back to the front anyway...something like that would have to be approved and hope your neighbors don't get their hackles up about it you really don't want that
. Normally the footprint of the house can't really be changed and you can only add on within another footprint ie birdcages patio etc. Really would be interested to see where this one goes. My biggest suggestion would be find a place to fit your needs to start. We ended up with one car out and one in with the golfcart.
And yep you can stretch when you build...the one we're in is stretch 2ft on the front...makes for a nice bedroom with a bay
