I've talked to many heating and AC people on this subject and electric motor guys. I've alway been told to put the furnace/AC fan switch to run and forget about it. I lived in. My last house 12 years and my current house 19 years and only turn the fan off to change filter. I've never replace a furnace motor. They tell me the start up is what eventually kills the motor. Just a thought.
