Thanks everyone! I think we are over the initial shock.
Our design team person is working on some creative alternatives with us to try and address the stretches we lost. We really love our lot and our future neighborhood! We have been visiting it off and on for for 8 months since we purchased it and we already feel part of the neighborhood! Our neighbors are fantastic and we didn't want to start looking all over again. It will work out and we will be happy just to finally be living the dream (even if it is on a smaller lani.) Hey, that will just make us that much closer to the people we have over!
