Part of the problem, IMHO, is that a lot of people came from areas that already had the commercial infrastructure in place when they moved in. So, they are accustomed to these things being available and convenient. As posted elsewhere, this area was farms and fields before TV. As TV expands, the homes go in before the commercial support. No company is going to build a big superstore standing alone in a field waiting for the surrounding area to be build up. Their fixed costs are too great to survive. They have to wait until there is a sufficient customer base before committing to build. Once they make the decision, there are a myriad of decisions, negotiations, and approvals to go through before dirt is moved. But it will happen.
When I moved to TV, there was no SweetBay. The closest grocery was the Publix on 466, or the one near Spanish Springs, or the Winn-Dixie there. There was no Sams, no BestBuy, etc. They were fields. There was no Colony Plaza. Morse stopped just south of Mallory Hill CC. In just a few years, these businesses have all come in after the homes were built and occupied.
