The vast majority of Publix employees do not receive health care from them. They require 1500 hours of service per year to be eligible. That is 30 hours per week and most employees are less than that. My wife works at the one in Colony Plaza and she knows of very people that participate in the health care offering. They are obviously growing and have over 1000 stores in the Southeast US.
