The rules for golf carts are the same as automobiles and bicycles all have application to the rules of the Road.

A diamond lane has he solid white line to define it establishing its widith for use by the golf cart driver. It is designated for golf carts. it is why I mentioned in another thread that an autombile should not be occupying space in a diamond lane. In this other thread one auto driver indicated she pulls into the diamond lane before making her turn. This is a violation of the rules pf the road.

A golf cart intending to merge with the main flow of traffic must signal 100 feet before the merger or turning and then proceed.

I suspect the solid white line would help in an investigation of a car and cart collided ( sideswept type accident). what I mean is that a witness may be able to say to an investigting office the car/cart moved over the solid white line.

One poster wrote that you can't trust a signal on a golf cart and he was right. some golf carts do not have an audible sounding signal and since the signal arm does not automatically snap back in place like a car . I know because as hard as I try to remember I am guilty of that sin of commission
Mea Culpa.
