It's strange that it was only certain motions that would give me pain, like when I extended my arm a certain way. But I could still work out with hand weights to maintain my muscle tone. So, if you are able, work both arms to maintain muscle tone. Take it slow and easy until you get used to it.

HOW THE CONDITION CAME ABOUT? I don't know exactly; my guess is too much at the fitness center? schlepping luggage on my recent trip to Florida? Contra dancing (like square dancing). OR ?????
I agree that time is a great healer; when I had a torn meniscus in 1998 I did NOTHING, no drugs, no arthroscopy, only went on an anti-inflammatory diet, and in many months/years it did get better
But, with the shoulder I have lost some range of motion ~ it hurts when I place my left arm behind me, can't scratch my back, etc.
I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to go see an orthopedic specialist who might have more insight regarding the problelm

I don't want to do anything that might make it worse!!
