Some clarification:

To attend (belong to) a social club which meets in a Villages facility (rec center, for example), you do need to have a Villages ID, whether that shows you as a resident, a guest or a renter.

On the other hand, should you want to attend a meeting of a non-funded, medically-oriented support group which meets in a Villages facility, you do NOT need a Villages ID; only state as you enter that you are attending such a gathering!

Several years ago, there was considerable discussion about this provision; a few hard-nosed old-timers were afraid that our facilitites would be "over-run by outsiders!" My own support group kept close records over the year following the granting of privileges.

While we had some 20-25 non-residents at our meetings, a close analysis revealed that those attendees represented all of six "out-siders!"

The rules are, however, much stricter for social groups!
