'Right way....have a contractor determine the capacity of your existing unit compared to requirements as determined by a heat/ac survey which takes into consideration. total Square footage under heat/ac, the exposure (ie faces north south east or west), window exposure and type of windows (double pane /low-e, insulated etc.) . If your existing AC/heat unit can handle the additional SQ Footage, a separate flexible duct should be installed directly to the furnace that would provide heat/ac at equal levels compared to the rest of the house.'

748Caroline - I am confused - if the system can handle the additional load and a return is included - why would that application be any different than if it were included as an additional room in the original installation.
