One of the more popular scams is a pop up staring that you have thousands of malware or viruses files on your computer and for $x they will clean it for you. A total scam.

If you see something along these lines just hit the power button on your computer and reboot. Next run Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security essentials (now called Windows Defender) and do a FULL system scan and not just the quick scan.
