Except that in HIS interpretation of Islam (all there are now are interpretations of a religion unless it is one whose leader lives now) he should be praised for doing the will of God. Islam is a very old and very complicated religion. I sincerely doubt if terrorists have a monopoly on the "correct" interpretation of it. It seems more like these brothers were radicalized through various militant Al Qaeda sponsored or with some kind of connections to this group websites.
