Neither my wife nor I look our age. However, my wife once asked me if she should have some work done. My response to her was that it was her decision but if she decided to do so then my plea was that she not return home a stranger. My wife is a perpetual cheerleader always upbeat, always playful and so much more interesting than me.
The best response, in my view, for the issue of surgery came from Peggy Noonan who when asked about facelifts, etc stated "Beauty belongs to the young."
Ever since i was a kid I just seen to graviate toward old folks. Found their stories to be fasinating, study the lines in their faces and hands and paid attention to how so many of them had reached that stage in their lives when the pretense could be dropped life appreciated so much more, etc.
