The oldest women whom I know have been when they had any extensive elective plastic surgery was around the age of 60, plus or minus a couple of years. Surgery becomes more dangerous as one ages. I have had both shoulders and one knee 'scoped. The first surgery was in my early sixties, the last when I was 70. At 70 I had to have a thorough pre-op exam, EKG and so on to clear me. If I recall correctly the testing was not as extensive in my sixties.
The skin loses elasticity with age which is another reason to forego unnecessary plastic surgery later on in life. The results may not be satisfactory. It is best to start young while the skin is still elastic. The surgeon will not need to be aggressive. If one waits too long, too much will have to be done and the results may not be optimal.
One of my neighbors had his eyes done at the age of 79. His eyelids were drooping over his pupils and affecting his vision so it was covered by Medicare. The surgeon also cleared up the bags under his eyes while doing the "medical need" surgery. Within a few weeks I could not tell he had surgery and I can usually spot it if I look. In some cases, at least around here, I can even determine which local surgeon did the work on a woman.
The best surgeries are the most unobvious ones, that is unless the patient is in a witness protection program.
