We were a much better society when drugs were what the doctor knew about and prescribed instead of what the patients ask for today.

We are a very over medicated country brain washed by television, magazine, newspaper and all other media.

We are very naieve, gullible or just plain dumb.

You got it. That's exactly what we say. Is anyone else really listening?

We kid each other that the t.v. commercials of our youth with the Marlboro Man, the "soaps", etc. the Rheingold Girl Contest (beer) and probably there were whiskey commericals too..........weren't any worse than all these BIG PHARMA commercials of today..........

CDC Grand Rounds: Prescription Drug Overdoses — a U.S. Epidemic

Prescription Drug overdoses is becoming epidemic.

Although everyone knows that chronic pain can be challenging, we also all know folks who were prescribed years of oxycodone, etc.

Whether for back pain, knee pain, whatever pain.........it can become addictive.

An acquaintenance’s husband had to go into a drug rehab program for being given oxycodone at our hospital for his osteomylitis.....severe back pain resulting.

This was a prescription written out by his doctor. The patient was a state trooper. It became one vicious cycle and constant hospitilizations due to infections like M.E.R.S.A.

We know others who were prescribed it over and over again for occupational back pain, osteo arthritis knee pain, sciatica, etc. and became hooked.
