seems to me that the good screen writers are dying off or have been seduced by the movie executives who just want cheap, fast scripts provided for production.

look at today's video games - no 'feel good' there - they are modeled after frightening current events; and they can be turned into a movie or adapted from same in what seems to be a heartbeat!
