Our court system has been spun and twisted so that defendants are not assured a fair trail if they have money or backers. They are then allowed to lie, cheat and whatever else it takes to GET OFF.

The more bizare the case, the more it is loved by the media; hence, more money available to prolong the case until they GET OFF.
Any way we could change this situation? Smarter --as in better educated in the ways of the law-- jurors? I believe strongly in the right to a fair trial but as you seem to imply when money and TV ratings based on advertising points for ads and the like impact on judicial system, fair trials look like the farthest journey for survivors/victims of defendants to take. Ban TV from these type of trials? That sounds unconstitutional.
