both ABC news and CBS news have been warning of tornados until later this evening..........they are showing possible rotation in surrounding small towns.

They are telling people to get into basements .......away from windows, etc..
If they live in mobile homes, they are warning them to get out and into something more substantial........

Straight line winds........large hail, rotation / tornados...........

This same storm is actually heading east right towards Vermont.........but it should be pretty bad in N.Y.State until 7:30 pm
I used to live in that area, but I still have several friends and relatives living their. One of them just posted on Facebook that they've taken shelter in their basement. Hope they and everyone else fares well!

She also stated that power was out at the Crossgates Mall at the end of the Adirondack Northway and that a couple of funnels clouds were spotted in the area and possibly one near the Albany International Airport near the tower.

In 1998 a tornado passed through our area that ripped off the awning of our park model in the campground we were seasonal in. Our friends right next to us had a tree branch fall onto their trailer and another trailer on their other side was flipped over. Thankfully my wife, son and I were not there at the time.
