However, granite you will usually recover 100% of the cost when selling, where the $3000 you spent probably not. Weather we agree or not, most people looking to buy a home will pay extra for granite. It is one of the few remodeling jobs that typically recover 100% when selling. I have Corian in my VA home and Granite in my TV homes. I would not use Corian again. It scratches and shows them. Yes you can have it polished out, but that is expensive and makes a huge mess. Cost me $1000 to have the Corian polished last year. Never again. And because it is thinner, you are limited in the number of times that can be done.
