If I might add another point... Now that veterinarians are advocating neutering male dogs by age 6 months, a lot of them are not lifting their legs to pee. Therefore they're peeing like females, by squatting. Their urine is thus just as concentrated as that of the females.
We had one dog neutered at 9 months. He lifted his leg half the time and squatted the other half. Tended to mark on walks. We had our current dog neutered at 6 months. He only squats to pee. Never marks, either.
This is just anecdotal, but something to think about.
