Most are poly rayon but lets not get stuck in the details. Most people can't tell really good quality "silk" (fabric) flowers from real unless they touch them. The really expensive ones are made on real twigs or coconut fiber covered wire and do look beautiful. However they will I would think fade in the Fla sun. Even if easy to grow you can't tend flower beds if you aren't there and doesn't about half of town leave about now.
