You can't eliminate that part of their history. As a Yankees fan I recall some years in the 60s when they were pretty bad and while I don't like to think of that it's part of the Yankees history. No doubt if we were discussing baseball you'd want to concentrate the discussion on 2004 and 2007 and forget about all those years between 1918 and 2004, but that's a discussion or another day.
