Can I eat meat and drink wine until I'm 77, then switch?
Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. From hundreds of animal experiments, using all kinds of small to medium sized animals, it works best when started early in life. So it appears that we don't get away with much. In general, we reap what we sow. Lots of diseases start long before they are detected, like Alzheimer's, prostate cancer, thyroid cancer and heart disease.

Better late than never though. The sooner you start the better your chances are.

Note: On June 11, 2013, there was an article in the Lifestyle section of the Daily Sun about prostate cancer. There was a box with the following heading: "Facts about prostate cancer". It said prostate cancer is the most common cancer for men. It also said red meat and dairy raise your risk. What it didn't say, but should have, is that your risk would be raised for the more aggressive form of prostate cancer.
