Exactly right - and thanks for bringing that up. The par on the majority of the Executive golf courses is 3 on each hole. There are some par 4's on some of the courses for a total of par 29 or par 30 if there is more than one par 4 on the course. I think there is only one course (Walnut Grove or Amberleigh) that has a par 5.
Yes, after hitting the magic number of strokes of double the par (6 on a par 3 hole, 8 on a par 4 hole) you are supposed to pick up your ball and record the score on your card. This is golf ettiquette in The Villages.
Do not take your bad golfing friend to a Level 4 course such as Pelican or Truman. He will not enjoy the experience - and will lose many, many balls.
(The $50 fee for a card only applies for a renter and not to a guest.)
