I've been told that the AARP Plan F, offered through United Health Care, is this type of plan and the literature claims there are absolutely no out-of-pocket costs for anything after payment of the monthly premium. My residence of record is in New York, where the single person premium is now approximately $175 per month.

Anyone have this plan or another which provides full benefits?
Lila and I have AARP plan F through United Healthcare, and have been very happy with it. My father had the same coverage before he died and as his caregiver/guardian I saw firsthand how comprehensive this coverage was. If you are in relatively good health, and have expectations of low medical utilization, there may be cheaper, more appropriate plans available. However, if you are like us, and don't want to have to worry about a catastrophic medical expense that may be only minimally covered, AARP plan F is pretty worry free. One caveat, like most supplements, this plan covers only medical expenses COVERED by Medicare. If Medicare won't pay, neither will the supplement, so you must be sure that the procedure is covered and the provider participates in Medicare. Incidentally, all carriers Plan F should provide identical coverage, but the AARP plan is reliable and competitive in price.
