Yes, air flow is something they should have sophisticated programs for. But initially the builder's supervisor said to me, "Well the vent was on the plans".. like i was supposed to be able to surmise how airflow would be affected. When it came time for warranty, a supervisor told me that the minimum difference in air temp is within code. That the room is hotter because of the computer equipment (one modem and one laptop) and I should go get a fan if it bothers me. My point was that when they stretched the laundry room out to accommodate the 6 1/2 foot office, they should have moved the vent so it isn't 4 inches from the overhang of the doorway. The cold air either hits the overhang and goes nowhere or if the vents are directed further down, the air hits the floor...cold air does not rise so the only thing you can get cool is the floor. It's stupid. So we are just letting those know who are building to stay on top of any changes. As for the roof, they did make the joist changes to accommodate the extensive mid stretch. But now that you mention it, I hope they put in the proper joists...
