Problem with Dr. Tran is you never get to see Dr. Tran, unless you need surgery. At least, that has been our experience. Hubby is thinking of changing. As he put it...I don't need a medical director...I need a doctor. He's pretty high risk, with a history of various skin cancers, including melanoma.
That was driven home recently when he had a biopsy, which came back pre-cancerous, so they scheduled a freeze off, which takes about 2 seconds, but they couldn't get him in for almost two weeks. The biopsy site had healed so much, it wasn't obvious, and they froze the wrong spot. It was on my husband's forehead, and they were close, so he didn't realize it. I took one look when he got home, and it was obvious. They got him back in quickly and were apologetic, but what if I hadn't noticed? He would still have the possible cancer site growing.
We also are not comfortable with the level of skin exams we received. Our previous dermatologist left NO skin unseen, to the point of major modesty buster. Now, I feel like we have to do our own exam and then point out places for them to look.
I'm really starting to join the group of disillusioned patients trying to find good medical care, both for us and our cat!
