No, Owens did not contact us even though warranty said Owens would. Since we were approaching our 5yr window we had our original roof installer check the roof, we then contacted Owens to start the process based on the roofers feedback.
If you are within 5yrs of install Owens pays everything. But the further away from the 5yr date the homeowner pays more and more of the cost.
