I think there is something somewhere buried in the official do's and don'ts, but I too have seen some incredible and very tasteful artwork on the walls, in fact I think The Sun had an article with pictures about someone painting their wall to resemble the ocean and beach; and every Villa I have seen has plants growing up the walls and hanging off them, along with ornamental items.
