What would you do?
Need a bit of constructive feedback from those of you who have encountered a similar circumstance. We have just sold our Designer home with closing to take place on the 26th of September. We will not return to TV's until the 12th of September, leaving a small amount of time to sort things out. We are in the process of finding another property (CYV), but in spite of our search with all of the resources available to us - i.e., Realtors, FSBO and the likes, we have not been able to find a property of choice. Our dilemma is that we currently have all of our household communication devices on "vacation service" and we certainly need to have them re-activated upon our return. (albeit only for two weeks.)
Having said this, and realizing that we will only be in our pre-sold residence for about a two-week period, with the likelihood that we will be renting for at least a month, I'm wondering how to handle the logistics of our Direct TV contract as well as our Century Link phone and Internet service. Direct will only allow so many "vacation service options" over a 12 month period. Our return will exhaust that. The same is true with Century Link. If we disconnect phone and internet service until we have permanently relocated, we will lose our guaranteed rates. WHAT'S A PERSON TO DO???? We are very pleased with both vendors and would not be interested in changing to another. We know that we can contact the respective vendors and describe our issue, but, we also know that some things are better left unsaid. Perhaps there are some of you out there who have had to juggle this sort of problem. If so, we welcome your comments.
