Your fears are based on terrorism and sabotage. Mine would be a concern about less FDA oversite and corporate pressures to increase profits at the cost of safety. But statistically, neither of our fears are true! Air travel remains one of the safest forms of transportation. Since 1997, there have been less than 1 death per 2 billion passenger-miles flown. Even if we measure vehicle miles, not passenger miles then there are 1.3 deaths per 100 million car miles and 1.7 deaths per 100 million plane miles. I think the nightmare scenario you envision is possible whether outsourcing occurs or not. In today's global economy I would also have to worry about my car parts being sabotaged or my medication or food supply being poisoned. I refuse to do that.
