In a way I agree, but in my opinion the product being used was what we called sludge. Sludge is the solid wasts from the sewer treatment plants, it is spread onto a flat surface of land and allowed to dry. I recall people in out small Illinois town lining up with their pickup trucks for a load of the dried sludge which they would use as fertilizer.
