I had a pool in my back yard when I lived in California and I, personally, would never get one again. It was too much work and money, I love just taking my golf cart down to the neighborhood pool. No work, no fuss.
I find the Villages to be a very friendly place and I have no problem meeting and chatting with all kinds of people. I think people just need to get themselves out there to enjoy the camaraderie that abounds in the Villages.

I respect your opinion to not have a pool as it is an individual decision.
Personally, I would not like to live in a rural part of Florida........we found The Villages to have everything anyone would need and then some.....
Having always had our own inground pool (Olympic sized with sliding board and diving board, steps at the shallow end........of course the diving board at the deep end.) we did not feel it was too much of an expense....and aren't worried about the expense in TV as it will get a lot of use.
Two dermatologists have advised hubby to soak in a chlorinated pool for his skin issues....what better than at home??? Day or night. Nice relaxing dip before bedtime.
We plan to build a large pool for swimming.......with a spa at one end.......we’ve seen many beautiful ones in The Villages, photos shared by owners. SHARE SOME MORE PICS....
We believe a bird caged pool will increase the aesthetic value of our lanai and property in general. Keeping out bugs and leaves, etc.
We would use our pool as a 4 season entertainment center, and our five grandkids love pools. Ditto our two adult children and their two spouses.
Easier to have it off the living area.....then to keep driving to the pools....not to say we'd never use them.......I'm sure we would.
When our adult children and grandbaby visited, they spent a lot of time in the pool before “naptime” so it’s CONVENIENT. No driving to a pool.
Our elementary aged and middle school aged and older teen grandchildren love to swim, dive, snorkel and are like FISH in the water.
They even have their birthday parties at pools.....to invite their friends who also love to swim.....
Pools provide an easy way to instantly cool down on hot days. It’s just nice to dine out by the pool....again, convenient from the home. Pretty to look at the water from inside the home.
A Swimming pool is great for in water exercise , adding health benefits.
Swimming pools can bring added value at resale, especially in hot climates like Florida...........
Hubby sold his boat and towing vehicle and is looking forward to using that profit to go "towards" his big inground birdcaged pool. I know he will get a lot of enjoyment from it.
I've noticed almost everyone uses the same pool installer so I've made notes and appreciate all of the input from everyone so far...........please share some pics if you can. Thank you in advance.
