We have owned four homes with inground pools and found we didn't use them as much as we could, while the maintenance was unrelenting. Great for when the grandkids were visiting, but otherwise, not so much. I was working full time when we owned the pools, so more leisure time might encourage more pool time! Having said that, none were in a climate like TV, especially in the winter, so that may be different there. If I were inclined to have a pool today, I would definitely go for a salt water pool with solar heat. However, in our case, if we purchase a home in TV we will likely be there no more than six months out of the year, so don't think a pool would be logical. We have rented in three different villages and found the pools in each, during the busy season, to be relatively uncrowded and friendly. We have rented a home in Hemingway for the last three years, and the pool is within walking distance, so the convenience factor is definitely mitigated by that proximity.
